Medical Consent

Last updated: April 2026

1. Informed Consent for Telehealth Services

By using Elva's services, you consent to receive healthcare services through telehealth technology, including online assessments, asynchronous clinical reviews, and electronic communication with licensed healthcare providers. You understand that telehealth involves the use of electronic communications to enable healthcare providers to deliver services remotely.

2. Nature of the Consultation

The assessment and consultation provided through Elva does not replace a traditional face-to-face consultation with a healthcare provider. A licensed clinician will review your health information, medical history, and assessment responses to determine whether GLP-1 medication is appropriate for you. The clinician retains full discretion over prescribing decisions.

3. Compounded Medications

You acknowledge that compounded GLP-1 medications (including compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide) are produced in regulated compounding facilities. Although these facilities are regulated, compounded medications are not FDA/MHRA-approved or individually evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality. The decision to prescribe compounded medications is made by your licensed healthcare provider based on their clinical judgment.

4. Risks & Side Effects

GLP-1 medications may cause side effects including, but not limited to: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, dizziness, and injection site reactions. Rare but serious side effects may include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney issues, and allergic reactions. You agree to report any adverse effects promptly to your healthcare provider and to seek emergency care if you experience severe symptoms.

5. Accurate Health Information

You agree to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information about your health history, current medications, allergies, and medical conditions. Providing inaccurate information may affect the safety and appropriateness of your treatment and could result in serious health consequences.

6. No Guarantee of Results

Results vary based on individual factors including starting weight, adherence to the treatment plan, diet, exercise, and metabolic differences. Elva does not guarantee any specific weight loss outcome. The information on our website refers to self-reported patient data and is not a guarantee of individual results.

7. Ongoing Monitoring

You understand that your treatment involves regular check-ins with your healthcare provider. You agree to participate in periodic health assessments, report side effects, and attend follow-up consultations as recommended. Your clinician may adjust your dose, change your medication, or discontinue treatment based on your response and health status.

8. Right to Withdraw Consent

You may withdraw your consent to telehealth services at any time by notifying us at help@elvalabs.co. Withdrawal of consent will not affect any services already provided. You may also choose to discontinue your medication at any time, though we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before doing so.

9. Emergency Situations

Elva's telehealth services are not designed for emergency situations. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 (UK), 112 (EU), or 911 (US) immediately or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not rely on the Elva platform for emergency medical care.

10. Acknowledgement

By proceeding with Elva's assessment and treatment, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Medical Consent, that you have had the opportunity to ask questions, and that you voluntarily consent to receive telehealth services and GLP-1 treatment as described above.
